NET Program

catching the next generation

clinic

Newcastle Football conducts a Community Club based program, NET (catching the next generation), which offers and expanded involvement to our Clubs to participate in 10’s, 11’s and 12’s training programs, where the 4 Core skills are the base of skills education for players.

As this is a Club based program, Team Coaches are included in the once a week training session at NF Training Facility (Wallarah Oval – New Lambton) where their coaching skills and education is upgraded by the NF TD Richard Hartley. Each session has a specific skill focus and outcome with Richard overseeing the team sessions to keep things on track and offer assistance and guidance to the coach and players alike.

Weekend Fixtures (based on MiniRoos Regulations) are scheduled for the teams within the 10’s and 11’s age at Wallarah where a full 14 week season is laid out for each team to experience matches v their local NF opponents.

The 12’s training groups play in their individual graded Interdistrict Competitions in a Home and Away format with NF, Macquarie Football and Hunter Valley Football club teams.

A Summer NET Program is the extended version of the winter season where individual players are involved rather than teams. Players receive additional coaching and skills assessment during the week and play in matches at weeks end to check on their skills under game scenarios. This is a 10 week program which commences in September (after the regular season) and concludes at the end of November.

Clinics are held in the April and July school holidays, more information about these clinics can be found in the events section of our Facebook page. Clinic information will only be posted when registrations are open.

If you have any enquiries regards the NET program for your Club or as an individual please contact the Newcastle Football Office in the first instance for a overview of the program.
