Newcastle Football Board has made the Strategic decision to accept the NNSWF invitation of a SAP licence for 2015/16. The NET program initiated this season to offer FFA Curriculum Skills education to the Club players has been hailed as a success, and is evident by the results of the recent NNSWF State Titles for 11 & 12 yrs Boys; Newcastle Football squads were crowned Champions in both age groups….undefeated.
2016 SAP Boys will involve selecting squads in ages 10, 11 & 12. These squads will consist of approx. 30 players in each; train 2 (or 3) times per week and participate in weekly fixtures against Macquarie Football, Hunter Valley Football & the Emerging Jets (from the age group below). Home matches will be at Wallarah Ovals and due to the overflow of matches may involve Blackley’s Oval (next to Wallarah). Coaches will be appropriately accredited and will follow Training guidelines and Assessments as derived by NNSWF and directed by the Newcastle Football Technical Director, Richard Hartley and the Football Staff Coaches.
2016 SAP Girls program will comprise of ages 9, 10, 11 and 12 year old girls; with two squads in 9’s, 10’s and 11’s and one squad in 12’s. The Squads will train one evening per week at Wallarah and participate in regular galas during the the 2016 season. 2017, will see players selected in SAP 10, 11 and 12, register and play as NF players, train twice per week and play in a weekly fixture; details are yet to finalised and communication with MF & HVF plus NNSWF will determine the best outcome.
