State-wide audit underway to assist the improvement football facilities

April 11th, 2018

A collaborative venture between Northern NSW Football, Football NSW and Capital Football to undertake the most comprehensive analysis of football facilities across New South Wales has been announced.

The 2018 Football Facilities Audit has been initiated to provide support of the overwhelming growth in demand for the game and subsequently make better informed investment decisions.

Documenting the facilities clubs currently utilise and what is required for the game moving forward, the audit will capture data from more than 1,200 football venues and an estimated 1,600 pitches across the state.

Northern NSW CEO David Eland said Northern NSW Football will be working closely with all seven Member Zones, 235 Clubs and each Local Council to collect the necessary information to complete the auditing process prior to the end of the 2018 season.

“Undertaking this project is the starting point for developing strategic facility investment across the region. The last such audit was conducted in 2010 as part of Australia’s FIFA World Cup Bid.

“Having an understanding of current facilities will enable us to support the increase in participation through assisting to source funding to improve the quality of a playing fields, lighting to allow night games and additional training, and change room facilities that cater for both men and women. All integral steps in improving the overall player experience in a safe and conducive environment,” said Mr Eland.

Northern NSW Football has partnered with Inside Edge who have specifically designed a bespoke software system that will allow football to capture data utilising the latest in mobile technology.

A member of staff from Northern NSW Football’s Community Football team or your local Member Zone will be in touch in the coming months to establish a suitable time to complete an audit at your club’s facility.
