2018 Women’s State Cup Date Announced!

April 19th, 2018

Northern NSW Football’s (NNSWF) Women’s State Cup will be held 14 & 15 July at Lake Macquarie Regional Football Facility, Speers Point.

Senior Women’s teams from across Northern NSW will have the opportunity to test their skills against each other and teams from the Newcastle Herald Women’s Premier League (WPL) during the second annual Women’s State Cup held at the start-of-the-art facility.

In 2017, sixteen teams, with five from regional areas participated in the Cup.

The establishment of the Women’s State Cup was a strategic initiative for Northern NSW Football in the 2016-2019 Strategic Plan which outlines Northern NSW Football’s aim to be a leading organisation for female football.

Northern NSW Football Community Manager Peter Haynes said the Women’s State Cup provides a unique opportunity for women from all Northern NSW leagues to compete against each other.

“With the ever-increasing participation levels of females in football, it’s important to create the same opportunities already available for men’s football.

“With the current success of this season’s Newcastle Herald WPL and All-Age Women’s competitions, the event promises to be an exciting competition,” said Haynes.
