Stockton Sharks Junior Football Club was recognised on the weekend for their outstanding commitment to their local community with a visit from Northern NSW Football’s (NNSWF) MiniRoos Coordinator, Tom Oldaker and Female Participation Officer, Nyssa Suchanow.
The mighty Sharks has increased from 19 teams in 2016 to 30 teams in 2017. Perhaps though the most astonishing achievement is the fact that female participation has increased by more than 500% from last season!
NNSWF determined to surprise the club by implementing a number of fun football activities, including the ALDI MiniRoos Inflatable Kicking Target.
FFA’s Major Sponsor of MiniRoos, ALDI got into the spirit by providing hundreds of kids and their parents with free fresh fruit and access to the all-important sunscreen.
NNSWF’s Major Partner in Community Football, Newcastle Permanent, were also on hand distributing free drink bottles and inflatable balls.
NNSWF is committed to visiting more clubs on match days. Please contact us by sending an email to miniroos@northernnswfootball.com.au if your club has something to celebrate or you just want to have some fun.
NNSWF would like to say a massive thank you to Matt Rolston and Stockton Junior Football Club for a fantastic day on Saturday, so much fun was had by all!
