Kotara South FC named Newcastle Permanent Club of the Month for September

September 4th, 2020

Northern NSW Football is pleased to announce Kotara South FC from Newcastle Football as Newcastle Permanent Club of the Month winner for September 2020.

Kotara South FC was named as the winner of the Newcastle Permanent Club of the Month Award due to its significant contribution to the local community after working towards meeting COVID-19 requirements to allow players of all ages to get back playing football this season.

With many new committee members and a new president, the club has shown its continued commitment to the game and community.

Many hours have been put in cleaning, sorting, writing policies, communicating and more which culminated in a successful first half of the season. This effort has been greatly appreciated by club members.

“Kotara South FC has made a significant and valuable contribution to the local community through its successful implementation of COVID-19 requirements and getting football back on the park for its players,” NNSWF Senior Officer Community Football Ross Hicks said.

“We applaud the efforts of Kotara South FC’s committee, coaches and players which demonstrate that community is integral to the club’s ethos.”

Newcastle Permanent Chief Customer Experience and Delivery Officer Paul Juergens echoed Hicks’ sentiments and was pleased a local Newcastle Football club had been rewarded for its efforts.

“The Newcastle Permanent Club of the Month Award recognises clubs that show passion, commitment, dedication and really highlight what it means to be a grassroots, community club – on and off the field,” Juergens said.

“Whether it’s the experience provided to players, the activities the club has delivered or just introducing kids to the game of football, we congratulate Kotara South FC as this month’s Club of the Month winner.”

Kotara South FC will receive a $250 First Touch Football Supplies gift voucher thanks to Newcastle Permanent that will allow the club to purchase new equipment to continue its efforts in growing the game in the region.

The Newcastle Permanent Club of the Month Award recognises clubs for their contribution to football on and off the playing field across areas including football experience, club activities, coach and volunteer management and special projects.
