Northern NSW Football’s (NNSWF) Southern Pool Round 1 of the Westfield FFA Cup kicked off on the weekend with the majority of matches, unfortunately, being washed out.

The only matches that went ahead were the games held at Lydon Oval in Dudley, Victoria Park in Muswelbrook and at the Lake Macquarie Regional Football Facility (LMRFF) in Speers Point.

In Dudley, the two home sides Dudley Redhead United FC and Dudley Redhead United SFC both celebrated wins taking out their opponents and advancing to Round 2.

Adam Pawiak secured four of the eight goals for Dudley FC, in their 8-0 win against Mayfield United JSFC.

Cardiff City FC also secured an 8-0 win over Charlestown JFC.

Dudley SFC and Swansea FC (played in Muswellbrook) both secured their wins through penalties after both finishing their games at 1-1.

At the LMRFF, Mayfield United FC dominated the field securing a Round 2 position with a 6-0 win against Morisset United FC.

Whilst it was a too little too late story between the last match of the day, with Hamilton finding the back of the net in the 90th minute, going down 2-1 to Westlakes.

The confirmed rescheduled matches for Round 1 of the Southern Pool fixtures can be found here.

The Round 2 Draw will be conducted following the completion of Round 1 fixtures next week.
